Here’s a video made by an herbalist, and he briefly explains the history of Cascara Sagrada and how native americans used it to treat constipation. Currently, it is a common herbal ingredient in colon cleansing products.
I present this video for education purposes only. I do not think Cascara Sagrada is the best choice for treating constipation. There are much better options out there, but cascara sagrada is a common remedy for constipation. Remember, just because something is “All Natural” doesn’t mean it’s safe.
Frankly, I don’t agree 100% with his assessment of Cascara Sagrada.
Will Cascara Sagrada help with symptoms of constipation? Of course it will, but it can also cause a vast number of side effects at the same time. So, it is always advised to play it safe. Do the proper research on WHO you are buying it from. Discuss cascara sagrada with your doctor, because it is possible for it to negatively interact with medications you may already be taking.
